Elgin Public Museum Muraling and Diorama
The Elgin Public Museum is located in Elgin, Illinois,  a suburb of Chicago.  This muraling project was originally conceived as a diorama of a typical Illinewek Indian camp scene involving the French during the 1700s.  The set modeled the voyage of French Explorer Robert De LeSalle.  A 20-foot birch canoe was placed in the foreground.   This particular mural functions as the backdrop.  Each of the three panels were approximately 30 feet in length and eight feet high.
The medium employed was acrylic with oil washes on canvas strips. Because of the rather limited time frame,  the completed canvases were installed as if they were wallpaper.

The left side of the exhibit depicts the meeting of LaSalle with the Indians.  The center panel depicts what the forest would have looked like,  and the panel on the right depicts how the explorers pitched camp.   I did all of the scene painting on this project.
This exhibit is also at the Elgin Public Museum.  It presents a timeline of the short existence of mankind from the perspective of the life span of the dinosaur.   Life on Earth begins in the upper left frame, and moves from one panel to the next in increments of millions of years.  The varying sizes of the frames represent the amount of time spent in individual stages of Earth's development.   This was also done in acrylic with oil washes on canvas.
Lettering was applied to notate each period.
Rigatelli's Restaurant Muraling and Interior Redesign
While working with Scenic Productions,  I was hired to conceive, illustrate and design the interior for the new Rigatelli's Restaurant make-over at the Oaks Mall in Gainesville, Florida.  The owner requested a total redesign.  The upper level dining area at that time was rather dark and dingy and made people feel cramped.  My approach was to try to make diners feel as though they were on a patio.  In the corners,  we built fiberglass trees that were quartered and installed so that the branches would extend over the ceiling.  I was the chief artist for this mural, which took about two weeks to produce.

I designed the carousel and trellis areas, and the sculpture around the bar television screen  which were being installed while the mural was being painted.
Anheuser-Busch Sesame Place
This immense project was done for the Anheuser-Busch Sesame Place in Hershey Pennslvania while I was working for Museum Services.  It is over 55 feet long and was painted with latex.  The pre-fabricated fiberglass milk carton top was painted in Gainesville and then shipped to the site.  The building took ten days to paint.  There was also a 300 foot long carpenter's ruler and a 25 foot rubber duck,  all painted in Gainesville before shipping.
 Mural for a  Private Residence
This immense mural spans two floors and measures twenty feet tall  by twelve feet wide.

The scene was inspired by a recent trip to Costa Rica,  and the  project was commissioned for a private residence in Gainesville.

St. Andrews Golf Course--Private Residence

Seen above is the St. Andrews golf course clubhouse, with the famed cobblestone bridge in the foreground.

This mural is 25 feet in length and was painted on a living room wall of a custom home.   The medium was acrylic,  and the colors were muted to capture the feeling of a damp cool Scottish morning on the links.  Preparation included masking the window panes,  erecting the scaffolding,  and contracting for specialized spraying equipment.

Swamp Gator

This 5x6 foot acrylic mural was blended softly into the rough stucco of this residential gameroom.  It was all I could do to get this gator to sit still long enough to get him painted.....

 Boy Scout Troop 454 Trailer
This panoramic wraparound muraling  project was done in association with an old friend who has been involved in scouting for many years.  He envisioned scenery  involving favorite Scouting campsites, presented in a continuous flow.

The trailer surface was stripped and prepped for receiving acrylic paints.  Lettering was done in computer cut vinyl and the surfaces were then sealed with automotive clear coat.
